What is the reason for art in our lives?  Certainly hanging artwork in a room changes the room; we look for color, mood and meaning.  Sometimes I think artwork is like a window to another world, giving us access to another place.  The moment we gaze at it, we enter some place timeless and private.  The event is between me and the artist and what the artist was feeling , seeing and expressing at that moment.  So you can see that I am inviting you into my world when I welcome you to this gallery.

I enjoy using oil, acrylic and watercolor paint.  Charcoal and ink are my good friends.  I love going to studios to draw from live models.  Drawing the human body is challenging: it contains every contour and shape that is on the planet.  If  I can draw an expressive nude, it teaches me the insights so that  I can draw a landscape, a flower, a teacup, a car or anything that catches my eye.  If you can draw the human body, you can draw anything. 

I love traveling and collecting sketches and photographs of landscapes from around the world.  In the gallery today you will see paintings from Tahiti and Hawaii, from my treks to the Himalayas and Nepal, from Paris, Germany and several places in western America.  I really love this beautiful world that we live in.

The last thing I want to mention, is that I have always felt a spiritual opening with art.  When I am creating art, I feel connected to something much greater than who I am.  Thank goodness.
